The Story Behind Luma Numa Umah

Luma Numa Umah began with an unexpected journey and a dear friend, Sabina, who feels like family. Somewhere along the way, I realised I wanted to change the life I had built and leave my office life behind to follow a dream of my own to create a place filled with beauty, creativity, and freedom.

I’m Mariam, the founder and director of Luma Numa Umah. For me, the name means rebirth through beauty a reminder that we can always begin again, reconnect with ourselves, and express who we are through what we create.

Luma Numa Umah was born from that feeling. A place where you can come as you are, let your hands lead the way, and create something that is uniquely yours. But above all, I wanted it to feel like more than a workshop.

I wanted to create a warm space where people can feel at home, connect with themselves and with others, and find a sense of belonging in a world where we can sometimes feel alone.

A place where strangers meet, friendships begin, and everyone is welcome.
